8oz vermicelli
1/2 c butter
1 large onion, chopped
1 1/2c sliced mushrooms
1 can cream chicken soup
1 can cream mushroom soup
2 c chicken broth
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces
2 c sour cream
pepper to taste
1 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
5 slices rye bread, cut into cubes
~ Heat oven to 350. Grease a 8x12 inch baking dish.
~ Boil the vermicelli for 2 min; drain
~ Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the onion; saute until translucent
~ Combine the butter mixture, mushrooms, soups, chicken broth and uncooked chicken in a large bowl; mix well. Add the sour cream, pepper, and 1c cheddar cheese. Stir in the slightly cooked pasta.
~ Spoon into the baking dish. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and 1/2 c cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the bread cubes over the top.
~ Bake for 1 hr
I made a few adjustments...
ReplyDelete~ Left out the mushrooms and used a 2nd can of cream of chicken soup instead of the mushroom soup
~ Used sour dough instead of rye bread
~ Would add more noodles next time, this called for about 1/2 a box
"Put this in the rotation" was the comment I got at dinner :) Everyone loved it!
